Beavers vs Deeside A

The primary purpose of this fixture was to measure the progress that the Beavers have made so far this season and frankly the final score is not a true measure.

Timperley came up against an extraordinary team of much more physical boys so it is important for them to focus on the positives and work on areas for improvement. The positives are that the team defended resolutely, never once giving up on a very difficult task and moved the ball well and directly when the opportunity came to attack. The key learn for the team is how to set up defensively both in open play and at set pieces, particularly long corners.

Everybody on the day deserved credit for their industry and good sportsmanship in a very difficult game. Special mention still needs to be made of Ben Hurlestone in goals who saved countless shots and never showed any fear of the onslaught aimed at his goal.
Also, Oli Burton deserves mention for what was probably his best game of the season and for also scoring a fine individual goal from a very fine angle that will linger long in the memory.

Anyway, onwards and upwards and the Beavers are looking forward to their next big test away to Bowdon A next weekend.
