Hockey isn't on TV very often so don't miss out on the Men's World Cup currently taking place in India to watch and learn from some world clash hockey and umpiring (test yourself against the video referrals too !) watch on BT Sport or catch up on line. England have progressed to the knock out stages and if your want a masterclass in goal-scoring take a look at the Australia v China highlights in an 11 - 0 cracker ! Here's all the links !

If you want to see goals some of our THC teams continue to rattle them in ! The Men's 1 can usually guarantee as good few and came back from 3-1 down last week to draw 3-3 with Deeside in the league and then hit another three on Sunday to win their EH Tier 1 Championship match 3 -0 against Alderley Edge to make it into the last 16 and a home draw v Leeds on Sunday 3rd February. The lads play Oxton at home today 12.30pm push back.

The 6-1 win for the Men's 4's last week takes them to the top of NWHL Division 5 (South) and the Men's 2's knocked in another five to stay top of NWHL Division 2. The chase will be on for the second half of the season to see if the women's teams catch the men's total goals scored for the season.

Our Road to Lee Valley 2019 campaign continues on all fronts as the Men's Over 50's won 4-2 away at Alderley Edge last week to make it to Round 3 (and a bye) of the EH Masters Over 50 Tier 2 competition. This Sunday the Ladies 2's make the trip over to The Edge for a 13:30 push back v Alderley Edge 2's in the Women's Tier 2 Championships. Good Luck to Imps and the girls and we hope they will be joining those teams into the next rounds and one step nearer to national finals at Lee Valley - Men's 1 (last 16), Ladies Over 45's (last 8), Ladies Over 35's Men's Over 50's, Men's Over 40's and Mixed XI plus of course our Academy teams still playing regional round robin EH matches.

Finally, the Club held the TSC Vice President and Honorary Life Members Dinner last night when former members recognised for the services and contribution to Timperley Sports Club come together for a #OneFourFourSports evening hosted by our illustrious TSC President Nick Burnett. Take a look at the new 2018 TSC achievements board unveiled in the function room that brings to life the successes of all sections. This year the dinner welcomed our newest Hockey section Vice President - Rob Judd and the Club's newest Honorary Life Member, Richard Knill - the longest serving Club Treasurer we believe on the club's long history ! Our VP and HLM's, along with all our volunteers play a huge role in making Timperley Sports Club what it is - and we than them for their contribution and vision to help the club be what it is today from our fantastic playing facilities invested in over many years, the clubhouse build thanks to the vision and hard work of so many members in 2001 and of course all the playing opportunities we offer to nearly 1000 members from aged 5 to 75+

Good luck to all teams playing this weekend and thank you to our Match Day Sponsor and THC Treasurer Malcolm Tucker. Malcolm was a Caldy Grange Grammar boy (and taught by Chris Todd when he first starting teaching there) and player so its fitting he's sponsoring the Men's 1 Game v Oxton his old stomping ground.

Look forward to seeing lots of hockey folks on Saturday the 15th December
