Andrew Foster is our Umpire Co-ordinator and is responsible for organising Umpires for all senior league and cup games unless appointed by the appropriate league administrators.

This season the demand on club umpiring will be greater than ever. As a result of the restructure of England Hockey itself and umpiring as well, new rules have been introduced. These are attached in full titled: North West Area Hockey League Regulations.
Will all umpires please read these to understand fully and in particular sections 6 and 9-13.
A further very important requirement is for all umpires to register on the GMS as umpires.

Please choose the Bronze membership which is free. You are all covered for Public liability by the club's own insurance to umpire all Timperley Hockey Club games.
If you need to umpire games outside of the club but on its behalf e.g. University or school games played at Timperley or elsewhere then you will need Silver membership.

ONE LAST ASK
Some lower level teams will not need Level 1 assessed umpires. However, anyone who does volunteer to umpire a game to help out must as an absolute minimum:
- A. Complete The Online Rules Test

- B. Register on the GMS as an umpire. Ideally before their first game or at least within 24 hours of the game being played.
- C.. Notify Nick Burnett that they have sat and passed the test and on what date.
- D. Download their certificate for future reference
Currently the Men's 7 and Ladies' 6th team fall into this category
LAST BUT NOT LEAST
The club has two sets of umpire microphones. We routinely utilise these in games where 2 Timperley umpires are officiating. Malcolm Tucker has multiple headsets which he will give to individuals to keep thus minimising any risk of Covid transmission.
