This weekends hockey
We will be marking Remembrance weekend before all 12 of our home games this weekend and before junior training on Sunday. We hope all will support this moment of national reflection for those lost in all wars and conflicts. Take a moment to have a look at the memorial in the Function Room for Timperley members lost in WWI made out of one of the slates from the original 1907 pavilion at the Club. Click here to find out a little more about the members lost and our history Timperley Sports Club - WWI memorial / history.
We're maxed out on home games this weekend with 8 homes games on Saturday including the Men's 1 v Oxton at 6pm so lets get another bumper crowd down to support the lads. We've L2's at 12.15, M2's at 14.00 and L1's at 16.00 so a great opportunity to see all 4 performance squads playing at home - plus L6, M3,M5 and M8! Take a look at this weeks programme (click below to download)
Sunday is Junior Club EH Championships Day with four super home games so do pop down to see the support our junior blues. U14Boys and U16Girls push back at 13.00 and U18 Boys and Girls push back at 14.30.
Don't forget to update your settings on your GMS account if you'd like your name shown on the results match-sheets - we've a lot of players showing name withheld and you need to change this yourself to have name shown. Ask if need help.
Whistling Factoids!
Another little factoid and a big shout out for our THC whistlers who give up their time to #makehockeyhappen. This season we’ve had 107 club umpire appointments filled by THC members. 31 people have picked up a whistle which is fantastic - all as volunteers giving back to the game. However, 8 umpires have done 50% of games - so let’s try give these whistlers some down time by sharing the load. We’ve c 50 club appointments to fill before Xmas so if you’re a whistler it would be a huge help if you could do one or two games. Please contact any of our whistlers or Andy Entwisle, Shelagh Everett or our Umpire Developer Nick Burnett if you'd like to get started.
Masters hockey down under and in the North West
Big thanks to Sarah Andrews our on site photographer whose captured our Masters at the World Cup - she did manage a photo with 5 of the 6 and no guessing for which had gone AWOL and missed that photo ! Keep up to date with all the WHM World Cup results and matches at https://worldmastershockey.org/wmhevents/2024mwcnz/
If any players aged 34 upwards fancy starting to make their masters journey with the opportunity to play some fantastic hockey - and literally have the opportunity to play all over the world - get hooked into NW Area Masters hockey and find out more about Area Masters hockey and England Trails. The NW Women's Age Groups (all) have a full programme of training sessions open to all. For the Men contact Col, Mike or Mark when back and they will hook you up with your age group or follow NW Masters Facebook.
Kit Orders
All the shirt numbers got allocated with EV2 on Monday so the Xmas Order is in production now. For the September order there is a slight delay caused by illness and a delay allocating the shirt numbers by Shelagh who was trying to do from holiday in the Arctic Circle! Hopefully order will be here this week and apologies for the delay.
