All the hockey is now really ramping up, with friendlies coming up for senior teams, academy registration and training next weekend and the change over for senior training. Membership Subs are now due to Timperley Sports Club too and there’s a short window to sign up to pay in two instalments online opening this weekend. It been a challenging week as a community sports club following travellers coming on to our site and we would like to thank all hockey members and families for their cooperation this week whilst we have worked to keep the club secure and keep the facilities open. Vehicle access remains limited and will be reviewed after the weekend. So if coming to the club assume you may not be able to gain access by car (we are OPEN in all other respects) so if the gate if locked when you arrive please find alternative local parking – or walk or cycle to get those extra steps in ! We would also like to thank the club staff and Malcolm Tucker for supporting them in dealing with recent events.

Senior training times from 3rd September
TUESDAYS

Club training for men’s (4-7’s) and women’s (4-5s) – 19:00 to 20:15 Green Pitch. (Please try get down for 18:45 to warm up and be ready to go)

Men’s and Women’s 2s and 3s training – 20:15 to 22:00 Green Pitch (be down to warm up (outside of the green pitch) from 20:00)

Men’s and Women’s 1s training – 20:00 to 22:00 Blue Pitch
GK's – pitch slots will be confirmed in the next week with the GK community.

Academy Registration Days and training

The Academy will be back in full swing from Sunday 8th September with Registration Day and new members or those who fancy a free taster session are welcome to come down the to Club. All players in year 11 and below must register with the Academy even if player senior hockey.

Players aged 5 – 8 will be able to sign up to the EH Hockey Heroes 6 week fun programme being held at the club from 15th September and then join in the Cub’s sessions.Link to Hockey Heroes Sign Up

Tuesday training for older academy players will start on 10th September 17:45 to 19:00. Academy Badger and Beaver matches start on Saturday 14th September

THC Kit and Mouth guards – Sunday 8th September
SilverFX will be at the club 10:00 to 13:00 to take orders for THC kit (see website for the current range), they’ll have samples to help with sizing and see the items. As it will be a busy morning with Academy registration we recommend senior players come down after 11:30. We’ll also have pairs of THC Royal Blue socks for sale on the day too for £7.

Khalid our friendly local sports mad dentist will be at the Club 10:00 to 12:30 to take impressions for custom fit mouth guards with a full range of colours and designs, including suitable for wearing with braces at a really good price comparable to other professionally fitted customer fit mouth guards.

Membership of TSC and Subs
Are due NOW ! Everyone needs to complete a new TSC Ltd membership form – available from the bar or download the attached copy. The online version will be available hopefully in the next few weeks subject to testing. No Pay No Play for senior hockey will kick in early October so please pay your subs on line or over the bar (for all players aged 16+) and to the Academy for players in year 11 and below. More details will be shared in the next few days about membership and subs

Other news
It is with sadness that we share the news of the passing of one of our from former hockey members Tony Griffiths who passed away recently. We’re hoping to gather some more information about Tony’s time as a hockey member at the club and share. For those who knew Tony and may wish to attend, his funeral is being held on Thursday 12thSeptember at Altrincham crematorium at 12.45 and afterwards back at the Club – a fitting place to remember and celebrate the life of former Timperley hockey player. Our thoughts go Tony’s family and hockey family friends.

Saturday 28th September – Hockey Start the Season Social – a race night with a difference – when you’re the jockey, owner and competing in the racing (not watching a film of a race !) fun evening for all ages, the chance to place your bets and raise funds towards hockey contribution to the new floodlights and get the season off to a racing start
