As we hit week 6 of the league its all go at the Club with hockey, socials, fundraising and a socks delivery too !

Its week 6 of the senior league season and we also welcome back the Badgers and Beaver games this weekend after the Half Term break. This weeks photo shows what playing Beavers means to some of our Young Blues! With our 13 senior teams, fledgling Men's Development team, 4 Masters teams and over 16 junior teams from U8 to U18 all in action plus our 20 training groups its timely just to thank everyone whose make this happen this season on and off the pitch.

Making so much hockey available each week is a major logistical feat made possible by so many people playing a large or small part - its been a challenging start to the season as ever with availability and making sure we have the volunteer hockey force we need each week to make training and matches happen. We are a collective and a community and hockey happens because of people stepping up to make it happen - from the smallest job (updating availability, paying fees, putting goals away) to lead roles of coaches, managers, captains, committee roles and of course umpires without who me there would be no game !

On behalf of everyone whose enjoyed their hockey on the pitch and side lines a BIG THANK YOU to everyone whose made it happened and stepped up. If we can make one ask of everyone it would be when the shout outs come round for help or we need you to do things to help make the wheels of hockey work, please respond and think about giving a little back to help and share the load to keep making great hockey days and experiences at Timperley!

There's been alot of volunteer hours put into chasing final payment of Subs and chasing up paid match fees this week too. Thanks to all involved. If you've been in touch we are working through final queries and will get you sorted - if you still need to pay subs / fees for senior or junior hockey for 2022-23 please go to Hockey Subs and Fees - 2022-23 how to pay

Hockey News
As we settle into the season we continue to get some good results and across the senior and junior teams we've had a positive start. Both first teams are up in the business end of the table and improving week by week. Great support last week for the Double Header v Wakefield - join us on Saturday 12th November to #WATCHYOUR1s for our final home double header of 2022
- Ladies 1 v Fylde at 16:00
- Men's 1 v Sheffield Hallam at 18:00
Your support really does make a difference so come along and what some great hockey and support the Blues !

Don't forget you can keep up to date with all the fixtures, results and tables at:
https://www.englandhockey.co.uk/clubs/timperley-hc/fixtures as well as keeping an eye on social media for our our fixture and results updates

Congratulations to the Men's O50's on navigating a Shoot Out to reach the next round of the EH Championships and the Ladies O45's start the defence of their title on Sunday at home at 1pm v Telford and Wrekin. Mixed results over the past few weeks for our junior teams in the EH Championships - developing resilience and bouncing back is all part of the hockey learning process and its a feature of Age Group hockey that with players draw from 2 school years teams constantly change each season as players move up and teams reform.

Getting Social - the Timperley Glue !
We're one of the few Club's in the country to have pitches and a clubhouse on site and this undoubtedly plays a huge part in our reputation as friendly and social hockey club where we offer more than just hockey ! Socials are our 'glue' as a Club and we'd love t hear your ideas for what you'd like to add to our calendar of formal and informal socials.

Thanks to everyone who supported Oktoberfest - a great night had by all and some excellent outfits ! Winter weather !
We get lots of questions about playing in the cold wet and snow ! Hockey players are of course made of tough stuff and there's not much that stops us playing or training on the weather front ! We will only cancel home training or matches if the pitches are frozen / covered in snow or in extreme weather conditions (for example storms that may make it unsafe to use pitches).

Important remind for parents for junior players and adult players - please start to layer up as weather gets colder, bring wet weather gear, and dry clothing if really wet (esp if travelling) and always good to have a bin bag to pop over bags, kit etc to keep them dry ! We're still getting alot of lost property - esp sticks so please do name things too !

We have a Winter Weather Policy and Procedure we'll be sharing later this week as a reminder but in a nut shell we will issue comms on all channels (pitchero, facebook, twitter, whats app) where possible to post updates if the weather may affect training or matches - so if it starts to get cold and frosty do check in before you travel to the club or away games !

Finally, this week congratulations go to our Mens 2's keeper and coach Pat Jones whose celebrating his Wedding and we hope that the Men's 2s will bring home another 3 points to add to the evening celebrations !

Job Opportunity at TSC - look out for the job advert going out this week as we are recruiting an Duty / Assistant Bar Manager Role so if you know of anyone interested please put them in touch with the Club.
